Since Holden is a liar and an unreliable character I feel like later on in the book he's going to learn from his mistakes and become a better person through his experiences. All his adventures will make him into a genuine truthful person and throughout the story I predict that is what's going to happen to Holden. as for Ackley and Statdlater, they too are going to change and become good reliable friends to Holden.
