It is very hard to tell what happened in Ifemelu's background. It seems like she went through a lot with her mother. We are yet to be told why her mother went almost crazy. Ifemelu also does not treat it like it was out of the ordinary and she said it like it was just something of her past.

The Book came to an ending as usual but I wanted to reflect more on the book in my last review. I liked the book it was really good although long it was enticing. drawing me in from the very beginning. I liked the contrast between past and present and the racism issues viewed from another country. It was eye opening.

This book has focused a lot on ifemelu's past and what happened before she decided to move back t nigeria. She however has now been faced with a dillema between to guys and sooner than later she will be forced to choose

Ifemelu reflects on what she has learned so far in America. I think right from the start of her journey she questions what she is doing. She points at every little thing that is happening because at first the country did not meet her expectations. She also has said many times that Uju is different. I also don't think she realizes how grueling and hard it is to work three jobs and be a single mother.

When the book reflects on both obinze and ifemelu's past it shows a lot about them and where they came from. It really shows the character of how Obinze was raised in a single mothers household and just how close they are. I think that she is starting to spend so much time with Obinzes mom and him because she has a lot more fun at there house than at her house which seems to be sad a lot cause her dad lost his job.

Ifemelu is finding her way in Nigeria. it did not come without problems though. The girl at the hair salon was especially annoying. I also think there has been a couple of unnecessary scenes written about that have slowed th course of the book and somewhat take away from the plot.

Ifemelu and Obinze start to reminis before they even see each other I do not know what is going to happen between them it seems like Obinze still has feelings or misses her as well but is also married and has a kid. It will be interesting to see what happens between them.

The book has started off with a lot of mixed emotions towards me. Ifemelu Decided to move back and I do not think that is the smart decision. She is moving away from a steady life. I think she is just chasing the dream of being with her old boyfriend but by the way he talks it is not to far out of reach.

The book starts off very good setting the scene very well at the beginning. I really like the authors writing style to begin the book it sounds almost third person but not. It is different but enticing.
