This is such a quick read, wow. I didn't expect the multimedia kind of format to make it fly by. I usually like multimedia like this (text with notes, IMs, charts, etc), but I don't think I like this so far. It's all very pre-teen considering Madeline is 18.

Maddy is 18 going on 12?? Like she's a bit immature for sure, but her mom is truly awful in how damn controlling she is. Like why are Carla and her mom the only people Maddy sees on a regular basis? Why was there no effort made for this child to have friends? Was the plan to just have her live in that house for life and do nothing with herself? This isn't love, this is authoritarianism.
