Finished Part 1. So intrigued and there are some genuinely odd and creepy moments. The absurdity of the situation is just mild enough to convince me that this is plausible, and that only adds to the way that this story is slowly shimmying its way beneath my skin. Seems that Thiago is now leaving the city. Difficult to predict where it’s gonna go now without the apartment and Itza. I’m excited.

Finished Part 2.
What is HAPPENING? Brimley quickly became my favorite part of the book and then the most tragic and then the most intense. Really reminded me of Cujo, Saint Bernard and all. This section of the novel really cranked the weirdness from just bizarre to all-out bonkers. A monolithic wall in the forest that moves on its own and wishes to deceive Thiago, at least seemingly?
I am lost but I’m locked in.

I love the way Moreno portrays grief in this novel so far, especially with how others use Vera’s death as a way to make it about themselves. Weird stuff is already beginning to happen and I’m curious to see where it goes.
