my favorite character would have to be dave bc with everything his mom has done to im he still has hope in his family coming together. My least favorite would be Mother and Father bc mother all she does is tortures Dave and Father doesnt do anything to stop her from the abuse .

in This chapter it is summer break and Dave is treated worse than before because his mom locks him in their bathroom w amonia and chlorox and he can hardly breathe. Well , Dave and his mom do not get along bc she abuses him for no reason. She stabbed her own son. Daves father doesnt do anything to stop mother from hitting dave . His brothers dont care about dave and thats pretty much it.

My favorite part of this book is when Dave tells the officer everything mother has done to him because no little boy should ever go through abuse like that! My least favorite part would be Dave wanting to keep his mom from going to jail bc he feels like hes betraying her when actually hes doing the best even tho he doesnt see the good in him

The one I'd be less relatable to would be Dave's mom because i don't get drunk, nor do i hit a small kid for not finishing the dishes. I also don't get a happy pleasure in seeing someone suffer for not being fed by here parent because thats what she does w Dave.
