“I never had a five year plan when I taught myself how to cook, bought the store, got up in the middle of the night to make a thousand baguettes, tested recipes for thirteen cookbooks, or agreed reluctantly to do a television show. I concentrate on what’s in front of me and work hard because I love what I do and have fun doing it, and then I leave the door open, so I’ll be ready when the luck happens.”
