Cecilia's dad has got a card to come back so her family is going to throw a welcome party for him. Cecilia has been looking for something to get her dad. They are throwing a party at their house.

Cecilia and her parents aren't happy because people celebrate Labor Day and her father can't celebrate in America so she has no one to celebrate with.

Cecilia is the protagonist and she and her family are fighting to get her father back in the United States. The complications are that the border workers isn't letting him sneak through.

Things have become more complicated because Cecilia's teacher passed away from Covid. Cecilia is worried because her Gramma has Covid and she doesn't want the same to happen to her Gramma. She is spending more time with her Gramma because she never knows how bad she can get sick.

Covid is going around and more people are getting sick. Ceciliaś mom has got sick and they are all trying to get her better.

Her mom went to jail and she is upset because her father is also gone. She is stuck helping her grandma that is barely able to do such things.

The government is talking about building a wall to keep immigrants out of the U.S. They are also blaming it on other countries.

The flat character in this story is Cecilia because she doesn't change her personality throughout the story and she has always been the same as she was when I first started reading the book. The conflict in the story is a sickness going around and killing people.
