Been sooo long since I dipped into scifi, and so far, "Hyperion" is everything I remembered the genre to be (and loved it for): preachy, equal parts appalled and thrilled at human nature, and peppered with sex and violence. YUM! HOWEVER, maybe it is because Asimov is a literary deity to me, but I can't bring myself to consider this on par with the Foundation series (as others have).
