Loving the world and character building so far. You get a real feel for the main character and how isolated and alone their time must have been as a lonely (well protected) human amongst vampires, and also why she would want/need to win this competition. The introduction to her backstory, and the drips of very few relationships you’re given at this point is enough to have totally sucked me in.
