What are your favorite Christian novels set in the Civil War? Must be written within the last ten years, and any romance must be mild.

Thank you! I love The Sentinels of Andersonville by Tracy Groot, but I’m looking for books to include in a giveaway for my newsletter subscribers, and that one is pretty graphic about the wartime prison conditions, so it’s not great for sensitive readers. I don’t read much Civil War fiction otherwise, so I’m interested to hear others’ suggestions.

Ohh yeah, graphic descriptions are another big consideration for me. 😬 I enjoyed With Lee in Virginia by G.A. Henty, but that's an older book and not explicitly Christian.
(. . . and I still need to subscribe to your newsletter . . . I've been meaning to for a while but forgot 🫠)

I'm sure I will!! It'll probably be a weekend read for me since this week is BUSY! 😅
Jocelyn Green’s Civil War series Heroines Behind the Lines. All Through the Night Tara Johnson. Lynn Austin Refiner’s Fire series. I know you said last 10 years, but that series is epic.

(The closest thing I can think of is R.L. Peterson's short story "A Heart Without Christmas" - it's so sweet! 🥰 I know she's been talking about writing another Civil War series so I'm super excited for that!)
