Didn't they have DNA tests in 1993? Why don't they just do one to prove the baby is the hero's nephew? Or was this before you could easily get a test to prove baby daddys? How could Maury Povich have a TV show then if you couldn't do DNA tests?

HP writers have found it necessary to ignore DNA tests as much as possible.

Yes, that is true. In this case, the supposed baby daddy is dead and the mom is MIA so you would think they would try to prove the child is the nephew of the hero since the hero is very skeptical and family money would eventually be involved.Ah well, common sense and HP's rarely go together.
