Really? Did you read the Vance stories of Cugel? You kind of should read Eyes of the Overworld before this one. I thought Shea did an exemplary job of continuing Vance’s character and world of the dying sun.

I did read it, and remember enjoying it. I am just having trouble staying focused with this one. I’m sure the fault is with me. I’ve enjoyed everything else associated with this world even Song of the Dying Earth.
I get that way too. I’m reading something I usually would enjoy, or wouldn’t be difficult to get absorbed in, and nothing happens. I think that’s why I’m always reading many books at once. The ones that I can’t fall into are read piece by piece, slowly. Then I happily devour what my mind will accept. And/or it’s just a shite book. lol.
