Still not sure if I like this book. The protagonist is a pretentious idiot, everyone else is an exploitative bastard, and the author appears to find rape funny. Yet from the other reviews it seems I must be missing something. Deciding whether or not to persevere.

Really not sure if I can be bothered to carry on with this. Started promisingly, now just a succession of humiliations for the main character for no discernable reason. Oh, everyone in the world is an arsehole? How insightful. Do you really need 800 pages to tell us?

This is fun, but dense as hell. A huge chunky book with small print. Regular print size this would be well over a thousand pages. Could take a while...
