A beautiful and gripping story of a young, privileged woman from San Diego who voluntarily enlists as an army nurse in Vietnam. Seeing the war through her experiences, and suffering through her post war struggles, was both beautiful and heartbreaking. Kristen Hannah is a truly gifted writer.
