In January 1953, Tidyman left Cleveland for the Detroit News. But her returned a couple of years later as a copy editor at The Plain Dealer, having been approached by the paper's editor, Wright Bryan. [BAT: Bryan was my mother's father.] Tidyman worked for the paper for 20 months until February 1957 when he moved to New York City.
