In my book, "Bridget was already soaked with sweat by the time she got up the stairs" (Brashares 109). This is an example of a metaphor because she wasn't actually soaked with sweat she was just very hot. The effect it is supposed to have is to show us that it was boiling in the attic

I chose this book because I read the first one last year and thought it was good and wanted to see if the 2nd one is good too. I'm struggling with how the author is switching from 4 different people, but it's not that hard once you know everyone's name. Next, I will read the 2nd book to It Ends with us, It Starts with Us.
