Notes:
(1) The sanctuary city of Pontus has a distinctly East Asian look, reminiscent of more tropical areas like Hong Kong or Thailand.
- Sana Takeda's landscapes and backgrounds here are absolutely beautiful.
(2) If I have one criticism about the artwork, it's that there needs to be more visual difference between all the dark-haired women.
- I'm constantly confusing them.

Notes:
(1) So, the art and plot both got pretty muddy around the middle and stayed that way until the end.
- Sana Takeda doesn't illustrate battle scenes very well, particularly the chaotic/apocalyptic sort we see here.
(2) Kippa and Ren scenes continue to be the best parts of this series.
- Judging by the cliffhanger, this dynamic will be front-and-center in the next book.

Notes:
(1) Maika's narration is addressed to Tuya, which has yet to be explained.
- Is it a letters she's writing? Is she recounting the story in the future to Tuya in person? Is she just talking to an imaginary Tuya.
- The story is definitely building up to their inevitable reunion, which is all the more complex and awkward now that Maika's aunt's been thrown into the mix.

Notes:
(1) To me, the most important thing coming out of the last volume is that the series finally has some direction: to ultimately locate and reassemble the Shaman-Empress' magic mask.
- This is much more like "Y: The Last Man" now, which had the long-term aim of reuniting the guy with his girlfriend, but which involved many separate adventures and detours along the way.
