I’ve just finished the first book in this Trilogy, the title of the first book is ‘With Fire and Sword’. It covers the Khmelnytsky Uprising of 1648 in the Ukraine. This was a brutal Cossack-Polish war, part nationalistic, part religious, part peasants revolt. The Cossacks were in alliance with their traditional enemies, the Tatars of Crimea. It is written from the Polish perspective. It’s great storytelling.
