The Hag - by Robert Herrick
The hag is astride,
This night for to ride;
The devill and shee together;
Through thick, and through thin,
Now out, and then in,
Though ne’er so foul be the weather.
A Thorn or a Burr
She takes for a Spurre:
With a lash of a Bramble she rides now,
Through Brakes and through Bryars,
O’er Ditches and Mires,
She followes the Spirit that guides now.

The night is darkening around me - Emily Brontë
The night is darkening round me,
The wild winds coldly blow;
But a tyrant spell has bound me,
And I cannot, cannot go.
The giant trees are bending
Their bare boughs weighed with snow;
The storm is fast descending
And yet I cannot go.
Clouds beyond clouds above me,
Wastes beyond wastes below;
But nothing drear can move me;
I will not, cannot go.
