So enjoy such illustrative prose about new york and brooklyn areas, emo artist living in the 90s. This is not a book to be read for plot, but seems more a social commentary on identity as an asian woman and child of immigrants in that time. I agree with other commentators that the message itself is impressively ambitious, but I think I would have preferred it as a collection of short stories.
