Dear God, when will this end? *beats head against wall*

I am so tempted to stop reading this...but I feel like I need to for some reason.

So...let me get this straight. Grace was not going to marry Corbeau only because she thought it was wrong to do so when she's shunned in most society for something her father did. However, now that she knows her family has nowhere to live, she's cool with it? WHAT?! Anddddd she now can't seem to stop having naughty thoughts about him? Seriously, just no. They should have gotten married in like chapter 3 and been done

OMG whyyyyyyyyyyyy? The entire last chapter completely pointless. Nothing happened. They just talked back and forth AGAIN about whether they should/shouldn't be married. And a gambling scandal? Lame. Good thing this is a quick read.

Still not much better. Corbeau is awesome. Grace is annoying.

written bantering and back-and-forth that isn't very witty. This is all trying way too hard to force a plot where there's no conflict- at least not at this point. And why does the earl even want to marry Grace? Bah!

by 3 older ladies, the earl tells them they're engaged. The girl (Grace) insists she just can't marry him even though he is attractive, she wants to kiss him, he seems nice, and her family is so broke that she as going to be a governess to make some money. Why in the world is she saying she can't marry him? It makes NO sense. Also, I have no idea what she or the earl look like, and there's a ton of really badly

This is very poorly plotted out. If it weren't an ARC, I would absolutely stop reading right now. I still might. So...this girl is 27 and unmarried. An earl wanted to marry her 8 years ago, but she turned him down to keep him out of some family scandal involving her father that has still not been explained.
