What an incel. JE book 3 really is surprising me.

Book 3 is my favorite so far. Jane’s “rock bottom” is leading to a lovely redemption arch.

Rochester just got way more fleshed out as a character which is really making me understand what Brontë is doing here now.

Well this was a thrilling section! Lots of mystery. Still kind of bored. But I’m invested.

This section has been rough. Charlotte just materializes JE’s passion out of nowhere with little nuance. It’s kind of—goofy? I’m not sold. Nothing like Levin and Kitty in AK or Dorothea and Will in Middlemarch. Pushing through.

Finished book 1! Another spoiler in an endnote so I finally stopped looking at them lol. I’m such a dummy for not stopping last time. 😂

Starting Wuthering Heights for a companion read.

Ok. I get it. The paragraphs where JE describes her own watercolor paintings sold me on this book,
