annnnnd incoming, one of the most deplorable characters in the history of literature - or is he? doesn’t stop him from making our main character question whether laws of morality are arbitrary or not

Finally getting to some Dostoyevsky, this has been in my to-read list since 2019 which is, unbelievably, 5 years ago.

so this is setting the scene and we waste no time getting into the existential struggles facing raskolnikov. I really enjoyed the quote “I am talking too much. It’s because I chatter that I do nothing. perhaps it is that I chatter because I do nothing.”
