Jayson’s Reviews > Kick-Ass: The New Girl, Vol. 3 > Status Update

Jayson
Jayson is on page 138 of 146

Notes:
(1) I don't think many people who've read this would disagree that the only truly interesting and exciting thing about this book is the final scene.
- Which isn't so much a final scene as a Marvel-style post-credits teaser.
- Yes, let's try to make this character cool by proxy.
(2) Marginally better than the last book but still awfully rote with zero character depth.

Jayson’s Previous Updates

Jayson
Jayson is on page 70 of 146

Notes:
(1) I don't know how much time's passed between this and the previous book—judging by the coma subplot, not much—yet a group of cartel-trafficked women are suddenly a deadly team of crack-shot badasses?
- Granted, life's tougher in Central America, but this is stretching plausibility.
(2) At least there's a new, colorful villainess here; albeit still kind of generic.

Jayson is starting

Notes:
(1) The main point of tension in the last book was whether Maurice would wake up from his coma.
- Not that it's nothing, but give me some higher stakes than worrying about a character we only (barely) saw in Volume 1.
- Everything else was just a generic gangster turf war plot.
(2) Is it too much to ask for some character development?
- Or flaws, I'd love some flaws.
