Jonathan Jackson
Jonathan Jackson is finished
The resolution of this book is a little different than most books, as it leads into a sequel. Leading to the end, Tucker is on a boat getting chased by the coast guard. He is going to try to find out about the weird "spaceships" in the sky, and for some reason the coast guard doesn't want him to know why. As a light is shone from the "spaceship" to the place where tucker is, the story ends.

In my reading, Tucker went down to the beach and saw the creepy guy from the football stadium the night before. The creepy guy had said that he knew why Tucker's friend, Quin, died. The nameless, weird guy gave Tucker this red, crystal substance and told him to take some before his next game to improve his athletic ability. From there, I was left on a cliff-hanger that suggested things were about to go wrong.

Tucker Pierce is a football-playing fifteen year old who claims that what he is doing is only to find out why his best friend died. Really, though. Tucker is really a thrill-seeking individual, who wants to find out why the government has taken over is small town in Maine. He is not easily persuaded by society, as he wears the same clothes everyday, and he values family and friends before all else.

The purpose of this book is to entertain readers by taking them through a fictional war, while keeping them guessing on certain events in the book, like why things happened or who did them. This is probably geared towards teenagers or tweens because of the sports and action, but someone of all ages would enjoy this book.

The main character, Tucker Pierce, is fourteen years old and lives in a small town off the coast of main. Besides his age, I can relate to the fact that he is sporty. He plays football for the high school team. One thing that makes him non relatable is how he likes to shy away from big crowds, and only likes to hang with a couple of his friends, like Quinn Carr.

So far in this book, Tucker Pierce was on the bench of his high school football team when his best friend and star running back, Quinn Carr, passes out after running too fast. We are left off as Quinn is rushed to the hospital, and he is pronounced dead. Tucker is determined to find out what happened and why his best friend just collapsed on the field.
