Every few sentences I have to stop to highlight a word, or a phrase that most writers would kill to have written. This tale of desperate people hoping to save the trees takes me back to when I watched the Lorax at age 6 and cried inconsolably for hours afterward. I love this book. It fills me with anxiety, grief, and joy for people and things I’ve never met or seen, and isn’t that what great fiction is about?
