I had to sit with chapter 5 for a little bit. Hodges uses statements which seem very extreme and harsh-honestly, made me feel defensive since what he lays out is uncomfortable and direct. However, I appreciate being challenged to see the study of scripture and making disciples as a required and vital piece of a follower of Jesus. This book continues to encourage the reader away from consumer friendly Christianity.

THIS STATISTIC!!: If 1 evangelist converted 1,000 persons per day to Christ, (with the present population frozen), it would take over 15,000 years to win the present world population to Christ. If 1 discipler were to thoroughly train and enlist another disciple for a year of training in which would enable him to enlist and train another, it would multiply the disciplers, reaching the world population in 35 years!

Yeee doggies! I’m only one chapter in and Hodges tells. it. like. it. is. There is no watering down the importance of making Jesus’ name know to the ends of the earth.
- “The greatest unrealized potential lies in the area of the fulfillment of the Great Commission of our Lord.”
- “It is easier to serve God without a vision… because then you are not bother by what God requires.”
