My character and her daughter where cleaning up the garden. they kept smelling a horrid stench, but they just moved on. The closer they go to the woods the worse it got. Eventually the mom went to go check out the smell, and her heart sank it was a dead person. A murder scene.

The woman heard someone unfamiliar down stairs with her daughter on the couch. She hears a man's voice that she does not know and she fumbles for her gun in her purse, and ran down stairs. This gives suspense in the story by the reader and the character not knowing what's going on down stares. This is also dramatic irony because it causes a scene where the character and reader is in a state of distress

This book is about a protective mother. I know that she is protective because she heard an unfamiliar voice of a man down stairs and her first thought was her daughters (Kelly) safety. She grabbed her gun and ran down stairs to her, there was a man (Blake Smith) standing over her daughter. The mother told Kelly to run upstairs so at least she is safe.
