I'm curious to know that if I entered an estimated number of pages read by today, say 200 & then counted them to find that it was only 180, would the counter at the top here let me enter a lower figure, as if somehow I had 'unread' pages, that you can read & forget you've ever read them

this morning I counted back the pages read. 42, Douglas Adams' number, rather than William Burroughs' 23. Mind you chapter headings have a page of their own so it's less. Started on Monday 4x 42 = 168 pages. Or thereabouts

Chapter 10 of 23 which would suggest somewhere around 40% through. Yet visually gauging the thickness of pages circumnavigated against those yet to be breached, looks more like maybe 28-30% only. However I have to add that I have very poor spatial awareness (bottom 5% of the centile in the UK) which means I find it hard to judge distances. Though there is question of whether a thickness could be said 2B a distance

no page numbers (explained by author) so going to be hard to track my progress here. Some pages read today...
