Jayson
Jayson is on page 50 of 109

Notes:
(1) Well, this is a pleasant surprise! It's a serious crime thriller, and the first installment that's not a comedy.
(2) Like last book, this also has a castration scene, but it's the villain who does it and it's not played for laughs.
(3) Easter eggs: an apartment mailbox belongs to "Frank Castle" and Hit-Girl has a "Starlight" keychain (another Millerworld series).

Notes:
(1) Really solid book, nothing spectacular, but a high-water mark for the series.
- Aside from all the cursing and blood, this has big-two sensibilities. It feels very mainstream and could pass for a Batman story.
(2) One thing it's lacking is anything that ties it to the "Kick-Ass" universe.
- I mean, why Hit-Girl? This could be James Bond or any gritty action hero.

Notes:
(1) So, I haven't read any Daniel Way before, but he can't be worse than Kevin Smith on the last volume.
- I expect this will get back to the series' roots of hard cursing and mowing down scores of gangsters.
(2) I've become a huge fan of Goran Parlov's art. He's grown on me a ton since "Y: The Last Man."
- A seriously underrated talent that I always look forward to.
