Why does a book called "Myths of Crete and Pre-Hellenic Europe" have a 20+ page long chapter on rural living in Neolithic and Bronze Age Crete but no actual chapters on the myths of Crete and Pre-Hellenic Europe.

Boring rambling about the racial types of Crete yet again, more diffusionist theorizing, and talking about how all the goddesses in Greek myth were originally just a manifestation of the Minoan "Mother Goddess"(TM) even if this makes no sense (why exactly, were the maiden goddesses expressions of the big mother goddess who was a "wanton" and characterized by reproduction?). Yawn.

Nearly half of the way through and nothing so far about interpretation - outdated as it may be - on how mythology about Crete related to the Minoan civilization, only outdated scholarship on the "racial makeup" of the paleolithic and neolithic + accounts of the discoveries of Schliemann and Evans, and the same OLD AND TIRED SHIT about how female demons are vague reminisces of the ancient "Great Mother Goddess", geez.
