Sofia I've only the last Brandstetter to read and plan to these as well. Hope these are as good.

Johanna I'm enjoying this one! So far my favorite Hansen books outside the Brandstetter series are probably Pretty Boy Dead and Backtrack. And then there are, of course, all the ones he wrote under the name James Colton. So many great ones in those too!

Sofia James Colton, I did not know that :-) good that I talked to you. I'll have to find out more. I've only touched his Dave books.

Johanna I'm so happy I managed to help! I found Joseph Hansen only a few years ago thanks to recommendation from a friend (Josh Lanyon) and Hansen has since become one of my very favorite authors.

In fact, Josh Lanyon has written a great article about Joseph Hansen (and especially about his James Colton pulp books) "The Play of Shadows and Light: Hansen Before Dave". The article is published in a book called The Golden Age of Gay Fiction.

Sofia I first heard of Hansen through Lanyon's Adrien English series. I'd find it interesting to read that article you mentioned.

Johanna Just like you, the very first time I heard about Hansen was when Adrien mentions him. :-)

Josh's article also has the complete list of Hansen's works throughout years 1923-2004. So that's quite helpful when tracking down his books.

Also, you might find it interesting that Hansen wrote poems, too. I especially like his poem collection Ghosts and Other Poems (1998).

Enjoy, have fun! Such a cool thing to find another Hansen fan! :-)

LOL. I'm so glad I could help. :-) After finishing The Brandstetter series I was determined to get my hands on everything Hansen wrote. I've gotten a lot of help with that from Josh and other friends in her GR group. You've popped in the group every once in a while, right? If you have any questions on Hansen or if you want to discuss Hansen's books, that's a place where you can always find people who are happy to discuss these things with you -- me included. :-D

Sofia Yes I've popped in, irregularly : D

I'll keep it in mind. Sometimes a girl needs to talk with others who share the same love.
