I'm loving the book, but I'm pretty sure I could have done without the scene in which Eva catches Kevin masturbating. Kevin is already sick enough without us learning that he tries to cause his mother to catch him in the act. Little overkill IMO.

Wow. I have never used the word "powerful" to describe a novel before, but this book is very powerful. In just the past five pages, not only did Shriver answer a lingering question I've had that I did not expect to get answered, but she also blew me away. I'm still reeling and have to remind myself "this is not real, it is fiction." Fan-f***ing-tastic.

Even though the three main characters are all unlikable pricks, this book is completely fascinating me. Still, I wish Franklin were real so I could smack the hell out of him LOL
