The genre of the book is historical fiction because it takes place in the 1930s. Scout is a girl but the story didn't happen in real life. The subgenre of the book is a coming-of-age story. It is about Scout maturing as a young child to becoming a woman. She learns what the real world is like as she grows up in Maycomb. Another subgenre is drama because Scout faces many hardships in her life.

The book I am reading is character driven. The character that is driven is Scout because of her dad teaching her the ways of life and raising her. Scout grows and experiences from her dad teaching her what life is like. Her dad drives Scout from being an innocent girl to a young mature lady. Scout is driven to learn from her dad how to deal with her life and mankind.

The protagonist in the book is Scout Finch. She is a little girl that lives in the city of Maycomb. She is very curious and likes to ask questions. She can easily get offended when people make fun of her or call her names. She does not like school and she learns what life is like as she grows up. She sometimes does not know what is going on around herself but her dad teaches her the ways of life.

A dynamic character in the book is Scout because she changes from a violent girl to an understanding character. She is changing because she is growing from not having fights with people when they call her names. She is maturing by learning about life and by becoming more understanding. She makes better decisions in her life. For example, when someone called her dad a mean name, she resisted and didn't fight back.
