Shouldn't they be panicking and doing something rather than DANCING?

Why is there only one man in this whole family of a bajillion aunts and female cousins? Do they not have sons, husbands, fathers? And do the men get any magic, or are they just there to keep the family going? I DON'T UNDERSTAND.

It was bothering me, so I googled it. I'm thinking this book is set in Stratford Connecticut. That makes more sense. Everything makes more sense.

No seriously, where is this book set? No way is it the UK.

I haven't seen the point of the story so far, and I'm also not sure if this is supposed to be in Stratford, UK yet. So basically...I'm confused.
