I have read 92 minutes this week.

Scout, the main character, takes on an interesting point of view in the beginning of the book. As her adult self, she introduces the audience to her as a child and reveals a lot of the background of this story. Many different characters are brought in early on. Dill is portrayed to be a best friend of Scout early on along with her brother, Jem.

I have read 146 minutes this week. To Kill a Mockingbird is complex. Throughout the book, Lee leaves subtle clues as to the overall message or theme. Once I was able to grasp Lee's logic, I understood the story completely. As Scout finally realizes the importance of Atticus's beliefs, I made a connection. To our thinking. To our society. To our lives as a whole.

I have read 100 minutes this week. Atticus is nearly jumped by a mob; however, Scout is able to use his advice to save him. Everyone is anxious about the big case. When the day comes, Tom Robinson seems to have a good chance, but racism may affect the outcome. This story is based on an unfortunate predicament a lot of blacks used to be involved with. Lee is starting to connect the dots, and so far, is doing amazing.

I have read 111 minutes this week. Atticus is beginning to show signs of struggle with his Tom Robinson case. Jem is starting to become a man and is growing away from Scout. Right now, the Finch family needs help. There is no where to get help from, but Atticus still tries his best. I can see the amount of impact that this case has on Scout's family. Hopefully, as she grows older, she will appreciate the strong will.

Scout's father, Atticus, is someone whom she can consult for advice and always rely on for the right answer. School is not Scout's favorite thing in the world; however, it is not worse than the thought of Boo Radley. I feel the beginning was just a little slow and didn't give much of a clue as to where the story might eventually end up. I hope that Harper Lee ends up explaining her introduction later on in the story.
