In the chapters I read today Reyna started playing an instrument she was the first out of the kids to learn how to. Later in the chapter their neighbors that were cholos were victims of a drive by. Mago's dad had a choice to go out and help him but it could make him a target. Instead he left him out there even though he was crying for help from them. I though this chapter was very powerful.

I thought it was really messed up when Reyna's dad was hitting Mago for not going to school because she didn't "feel good" she really just got her first period. After he beat her reyna told her dad that she was on he period
