Ugh. I really disliked "Many Waters" - the concept was irksome. Maybe the point that crystalized it for me was the gratuitous comment that so-and-so was more familiar because she lacked that "Oriental strangeness" of the other women with their almond shaped eyes and high cheekbones. Really, L'Engle? Publishing this sort of schlock in America of 1986?

Katherine Sas It's the weakest one by a mile. I'm not even 100% sure I've ever read the whole thing. I know I tried but can't remember ever finishing it.


Mythlee Agreed. And according to the notes in this volume, it was the only one that never came out in a British edition.
