Wow! The story of the old Papas giving away his stuff sure has a different perspective in this book!

This one seems to be tending in the direction of a commentary on the negative aspects of small rural village life.

Another novella, 124 pages this time. So far, the central character, Savvas, seems unlikable. Finding it hard to feel sympathy for him, too, which is the emotion the writing seems to bending towards. He feels too much sympathy for himself, to leave room for me to feels sympathy for him! So far, at least ;-)
