Six years later, Ezra and Maddie live in Lost Hollow, and have had a baby. Her parents divorced. Happily ever after.

She got to Lost Hollow and ran over the sign in the yard, setting off the airbags. In the house, she spent the night alone, it was empty. She wakes up to Ezra, who takes her back and they admit the standoff was stupid. Back at his house, she decides to stay for a while on Lost Hollow and do online classes.

Madison and Amelia are trying to figure out what to do with the offers on the house around Christmas. Madison gets a letter that she’s on Academic probation, and she and her mother have a fight about how Amelia pressured her to go to school, when she needed a semester off.

She left him a voicemail, apologizing for leaving. He doesn’t call her back. A for sale sign goes up in her house’s yard at Thanksgiving.

Maddie has been in school for 2 months. At a Halloween party, she has sex with a guy and finds out he’s in her history class & she didn’t recognize him. She remembers fucking up her first violin solo and how she burned her hand, and it hurt more when she played violin the next day. She goes ahead and texts Ezra.

Maddie and her mom try to be friends before the move to the dorms. She gets there & tells her roommate to call her Maddie. Shdd Ed considers going back to Lost Hollow, but she wouldn’t have Ezra.

Madison’s old friends are do judgmental of what she did all summer. Ew.

Ezra found out she left without telling him. He’s mad, but he gave her an ultimatum. He smashes his guitar.

Her mom is just as bad. And Ezra’s guilt tripping her, too. She’s leaving with her manipulative mother and not setting the expectation with him.
