when the world feels heavy remember, you can only control so much. you can only consume so much. don’t forget to give your mind a break.

living in darkness for so long taught me that light comes in slow. but when it comes it goes quickly from a dim to a glow.

if there was anything i would have done differently, i would have lived in the present moments with you instead of thinking i had so many to come that it didn’t matter. because i didn’t and now i wish i did.

i hope one day the new me and you get to meet. i’m sure you have a new you too. i just want you to know that who you have in your mind isn’t me. i hope i can prove that to you.

all i know is that today i’m at peace and i know it won’t always stay that way, but that’s for another day.

i want to be the mom that has paint brushes and water cups on the kitchen table and not a hint of worry if paint gets where it shouldn’t be. i want my children to move with creative hands and not worry about the messes they make. that messes are more than ok. that only being perfect isn’t the right way.

and i find peace in knowing
today is all i have.

worry filled my body
more than calmness ever did.
so, i started meditating on the phrase,
