A friend's response to my recounting of the plot so far: "It's like a Russian soap opera!" Surprisingly easy to read, endearing characters, thought-provoking dialogue, but yeah, these Karamazov sure fill their lives with a lot of drama. Poor Alyosha caught in the middle of it all.
