Eli has found the code and his dad tries to stop him from opening it, Eli Kicks his dad in the face twice and his dad stumbles down the stairs. Eli's little brother Lucas comes and helps Eli to get out the compound. Lucas finally gets out the compound and opens the door for Eli. Lucas whispers "Are these real stars?"

Eli's dad is now wide awoke and Eli has found all the clues to the door, and finally has the code to get out of the compound.

Eli is mad at his father, then a fights breaks out with him and his father, Eli is punching him rapidly in the face his dad falls on a stool, mom goes and checks Rex (dad) and his eyes won't open.

Eli, He finally finds his brothers computer. Opens it up and finds out he has Internet, he sees a username that looks familiar and finds out its his brother. Now he's not alone his brother is still alive and so is his Gram. Eli's father is keeping the I n the compound for 15 years and Eli doesn't want to follow his demands anymore.

Eli finds a new room with toddlers toys and diapers. A kid named Lucas walks up to him and says hi i'm your new brother :)

Eli has a dream of his past and remembers something important that started the compound.

The sad part in this book is when the livestock (animals) get rat poison and Eli stands near them all afternoon until they die one by one.

This book is getting interesting , a nuclear war is happening and there dad made an underground shelter that's 3 stories underneath the ground to keep there family safe.
