Byzantion (330-1453)
A shorter chapter this time, but very light on the actual history. Mostly just a lit review of all the notable scholars who have written about Byzantion and why they are all awful, horrible, and biased historians with an irrational hatred of the Eastern Roman Empire (to be fair most of them are). Not sure I learnt all that much new.

Aragon (1137-1714)
Dear god that was a long chapter - and it felt twice as long again.

Burgundia (c. 411-1795)
Dear fucking god, this man can make a potentially interesting subject dull! Just really, really awful writing and structure.
Again: very rambling, introduces historical figures without giving them enough context to really understand where they fit in And finishes the chapter with a weird weird section on how wikipedia compares to traditional dictionaries and encyclopaedias.

Alt Clud (Fifth to Twelfth Centuries)
A rather rambling and aimless chapter, could have done with a tighter focus, a clearer structure or (ideally) both.

Eeeeeugh! Run-on end notes with no line spacings!
Guess I shall not be referring to the notes unless I desperately want to know something. Gross.
