Marking this as a DNF unfortunately :/ it’s a fascinating read with incredible world building but it’s so dense that I found myself dreading picking it up. I may come back to it at some point but for now i’m taking it off my currently reading shelf.

While I am enjoying this book, it is so incredibly dense with facts and references to historical figures that I spend almost as much time reading as I do looking into what’s being referenced, making it a much longer read than I am used to for fiction
