As I get further into the book The beautiful and damned I learn about the characters and how they have developed. My favorite character is Richard Caramel because he is Adams best friend. He tries to talk some sense into Adam about his new lady friend. I like Richard because he also gets frustrated with his other friend who is always writing notes for his new novel. My favorite part of The Beautiful and Damned is when Anthony starts to date Gloria and he realizes that she has no interest in him and only his money. My least favorite part however is when Anthony, Dick, and Gloria are having tea and talking and Dick and Anthony realize how unintelligent Gloria is.

Anthony Patch is visiting with an old friend named Maury. They talk about literature and Gloria. Maury thinks that Anthony is crazy for loving Gloria. If F. Scott Fitzgerald were here I would ask him about his inspiration for his characters. I would ask what his favorite book is that hes written and why. I would tell him that his book is wonderfully amazing.

If The Beautiful and Damned were to take place in my life the people and setting would change. In the story, Adam and his friends walk through New York city and talk. I live in California so the setting would change from the East to the West coast. Also our conversations wouldn't be as intelligent because we just like to joke around.

In the book The Beautiful and Damned Anthony is a boy whose parents have died and he now lives with his grandfather. I his later years he attends Harvard and becomes a very charismatic gentleman.
