Thomas has been with the keepers trying to find a job but hasn't found one yet, Ben the sick boy who had been "stung" has tried to kill him but newt "killed him. The runner minho came back early from one of his runs into the maze because he was exhausted from running to tell ably that a griever was dead. When Thomas was finally alone chuck runs up to tell him ben wasn't dead but was in the jail and was being banished

they all made an escape plan to leave the maze after Thomas and minho were trapped in the maze then went back to explore where the greiver came from. they found it but then after they got there the doors started to close and they had to leave. then they gather most of the gladers and head out into the maze to leave. when they make it out they are found and taken away by wicked.

in the book now the new girl has just come up to the glade and everyone seems dumbfounded as to why. Thomas has seen a griever and in now looking for his job in the glade to fit in and not be the "greenie". Thomas seems to feel a connection to the girl but he cant quite figure out why.

so far Thomas has learned a little about why they are in the glade together but not much. he demands answers but no one seems to what ti give him any. Thomas is also curious about what the job of the runners is but as time goes by he will find out.

the maze runner is an alright book right now, I mean when Thomas first arrives in the glade with all the other boys he is very confused. Alby the leader of all the boys seems very intense he seems to have a different approach to the topic of Thomas's arrival.
