Anita is starting to understand. While in the book she was very clueless. However now she is starting to see what is really going on. I think this is due to the fact that she is being informed by her sister and not left in the dark like she was for the first few chapters.

Although she has escaped lookng back is the hardest part. If you think hard enough about anything you can eventually blame yourself. I dont think that Anita is the only one doing this, her mom mundin and her are all doing it they are missing there father/husband.

The sadness is eally present and you can feel it when anita talks. She is ver depressed although some readers do not understand why because she just escaped from the Dominican. I think that she is reminiscin she misses the old times when it was just her family and nothing else she had her dad and she did not have to run from anything or anything to be afraid of.

With all the haters in the book of the dictator we soon find out how many people really hat him when he is killed. WHen everything is going down AMerica is nowhere to be found, they pulled out all of the Americans living near them and closed the school. They backed away when the Dominicans started to do the dirty work and left them for dry.

Anita is still very scared which she has the right to be. Her mom worries every night about her father and tio toni. We have not really received word except for that there brother/ son is in the italian embassy but we do not know yet where there father is. I think that there father is going to get killed for what he did although there are many people that hate el jefe there were still some supporters.

I am nearing the end of the book and it has been keeping me on the edge the whole time. There are still so many questions unanswered that Anita does not know the answer to. The new perspective of her writing in the journal is different and cool. I like how we get to see the intensity of the situation but I also don't like how some things are not explained. These things are also what has made the book enticing.

The family is being very paranoid of most everything. Which it is not wrong for them to be feeling very weary after all they have been through and all that they have to worry about. They believed that there new made was working with the SIM now somethings that they say and are worried about could be possible. Some others however are much more of a stretch and is going to far.

The changes in the book are coming slowly but surely. Anita is changing after she has some body changes we see she realizes she is finally maturing what she has wanted the whole book to know what is going on but now she does not and wishes she was the young innocent girl we were introduced to in the beginning of the book.

The author is hinting at something happening the whole book. Although it is never really pointed out but the SIM and el jefe have played a big part in this book. What will happen to Anita how will she continue to handler herself at such a young age with so much going on.

The book starts with a lot of questions unanswered. I think the book started this way for a reason representing how the main character anita felt. She felt lost and didn't know what to do.
