So far, this is so much better than the last book I read. I feel like I’m gonna really like it. The vibes are so there for Fourth of July because it talks about Cuban independence from the Spanish. The writing is magical and whimsical and I feel like the narrator, Maria, is literally talking to me and telling me her story. All this and I’m only on page 33. I hope it doesn’t let me down.
