Her lips and eyes were lined with heavy makeup, which made me wonder exactly how striking she was underneath of all of it. Molly’s sweet, fresh face flashed in my mind. She didn’t feel the need to pile on the makeup.

Maybe this woman doesn't "need" it, but wants to fucking wear makeup because she likes it. Is that such a hard concept?

I thought this would be more about Mallory trying to find out what kind of man her father is by asking people around him about him, as well as him, before telling him she is his daughter.

Instead this is all about the forced chemistry between Mallory and hot guy next door.
